Inelco Hunter has introduced the Powertip Chip-On-Glass (COG) 240x128 graphic module which uniquely combines a 32-level greyscale with a white LED backlight, and a very cost-effective price.

32-level greyscale is normally only available with FSTN screens which are typically more than double the price of the Powertip COG module. A version with 240 x 64 resolution is also available.

Additionally, greyscale modules typically have a yellow or green backlight, or no backlight at all. The Powertip module uses a white LED backlight, resulting in clear, easy-to-read, high-contrast text and images.

The module uses a single, integrated 3.3V logic chip (Chip-On-Board modules on the market typically use 3 or 4 chips), resulting in a compact, low-profile SMT product, just 5.5mm in depth, with surface dimensions of 99.2 x 64.2mm.

The module features a very low power consumption of just 200mA. A 22-way Zif connector makes connection to the PCB very easy. Other products often require soldering to the PCB. The standard operating temperature is 0 to 50 degC, with an option of -20 to 70 degC.
